Fret slotting station
Beta This jig is in beta: the files are generated and checked, but the design may still change. Check the drawing against your instrument before you cut.
A blind station and a laser-cut template. The station knows nothing about the instrument; everything about the scale lives on the template, so changing instrument means changing template, not adjusting the jig.
Side by side, one download per part of the set: each is generated and downloaded on its own.
They are made by different machines and you will not want them in one file.
Station
The printed parts: bridge, indexer, both stop blocks, the eccentric bushing, the universal depth-stop half and the board hold-downs, plus the base plate DXF.
Depth stop
The depth stop, which is the one part that depends on your saw. Give it the plate thickness and print two.
Template
The template: one per instrument. Scale, fret count, nut compensation and an optional engraved board outline.
What goes to whom
- To the laser shop: the template DXF and the base plate DXF, both on 5 mm cast PMMA. Cut the CUT layer only — ENGRAVE is surface marking and PLYWOOD is not for the laser at all.
- To your slicer: the 3MF, which carries every printed part already standing in its print orientation. The STLs are there if you would rather plate them yourself.
- To your own bench: the assembly STEP, which opens as a tree of named parts in FreeCAD, and the bundle's README.
